WooCommerce with ShopTab's Facebook Shop

WooCommerce (https://woocommerce.com/) is one of the most commonly used plug-ins to provide e-commerce capabilities inside of a WordPress website. Many website owners desire to drive online sales from their social media presence via their Facebook fan page.  Instead of setting up a new or duplicate commerce site in Facebook, ShopTab allows you to integrate your Facebook Store with your existing online store so that you can simply manage all commerce activities from one location. 

(NOTE: you may set up the Facebook shop as a standalone payment can checkout system - go to the bottom of this page if you want it to process its own orders.)

To create a product listing in ShopTab we need the following information:

  • Product title
  • Product description
  • Product price
  • Product category
  • URL to product webpage
  • Image URL(s) for item in website

WooCommerce has provided a functionality via the a CSV import suite product. Below is a note from their support team to ShopTab about exporting the information above.

So, what are the steps that you need to follow to load your products in your ShopTab store?

  • Set up your account in ShopTab
  • Under the Buyer Checkout options, choose the External Website option
  • Download your product file from WooCommerce and save to your computer
  • In ShopTab's admin, click on "Settings" and then "Product Feed" - select to manually load the file.
  • Select your file, map or match your fields to ShopTab's and click to upload
  • Your items should appear within a minute. You will also receive an email notification when the upload is complete.

If you desire to set up the shop as a standalone system to process orders, just do the following.

  • Set up your account in ShopTab
  • Under the Buyer Checkout options, choose the Integrated Cart option and input your PayPal account information and save
  • Download your product file from WooCommerce and save to your computer
  • In ShopTab's admin, click on "Settings" and then "Product Feed" - select to manually load the file.
  • Select your file, map or match your fields to ShopTab's and click to upload
  • Your items should appear within a minute. You will also receive an email notification when the upload is complete.
