I'm not seeing the categories from Prostores show up correctly in my ShopTab Facebook store. Below are some options to consider to optimize the data feed output for ShopTab.
When configuring Categories…
1) You can enable the “Exclude from Shopping Comparison Sites” option to exclude the category from the feed file. For example, if he has a product in both CategoryA and CategoryB and CategoryA has this option enabled, then the product will be included in the feed file with Category B. If both CategoryA and CategoryB have the option enabled, then the product will not be included in the feed file at all. If both categories have the option disabled, then it uses other logic to determine which category to use (See option 2 below).
2) You can also set the Sort Priority higher for the categories he wants to be included in the feed file. For example, if he has a product in both CategoryA and CategoryB and CategoryA has a Sort Priority of 9999 and CategoryB has a Sort Priority if 1, then the product will be included in the feed file with Category B. Keep in mind though that this setting could also affect the way products are sorted/displayed on store front too.
See screenshot below for location of these fields. These settings affect ALL Shopping comparison Site feed files… NOT just ShopTab.
Below are a couple of bullets found in Prostores documentation regarding the two options discussed above…
- If a product is assigned to multiple categories, then the category's "Sort Priority" will be used to determine which category to send to the comparison shopping site. If categories have the same Sort Priority, then the category name will be chosen alphabetically.
- By default, products in all categories will be submitted to a comparison shopping site. You can omit products from an entire category by selecting the Exclude from comparison shopping sites check box when defining the category.
